THE PARLOR, UNFILTERED.
THIS IS WHAT BUILDING IT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE.
SK PARLOR didn't appear overnight. It started with an idea, a love for beauty, and the decision to finally take that love seriously.
This page is where the polished version meets the real version. The learning. The experimenting. The beauty school days. The business decisions. The ideas that work and the ones that don't.
I'm building this brand one decision at a time, and I'm bringing you along for the process.
IT STARTED WITH BEAUTY.
I've loved beauty for as long as I can remember. Hair, makeup, getting ready, creating a look, seeing the difference a few intentional details can make.
Eventually I realized I didn't just want to consume beauty. I wanted to create it.
SK PARLOR became the name for that idea.
I CHOSE A DIFFERENT DIRECTION.
For a long time, I was building toward a career in healthcare. It made sense. It was responsible. It was the path I had been working toward.
But there was another part of me that kept showing up.
The part that wanted to create. The part that wanted to work with beauty. The part that wanted to build something of my own.
LEARNING THE HANDS-ON PART.
Loving beauty and knowing how to create it are two completely different things.
That's where cosmetology comes in.
Beauty school is teaching me the technical side of what I've always loved. The repetition. The practice. The mistakes. The small breakthroughs that make something finally click.
I'm not interested in pretending I knew everything from day one. I'm documenting the process of becoming really good at this.
FROM IDEA TO IDENTITY.
SK PARLOR is more than a name to me. Every detail is intentional. The typography. The photography. The packaging ideas. The website. The tone. The experience.
I'm building the visual identity now because I want the brand to feel established long before it reaches its full potential.
There is a lot happening behind a finished logo or a beautiful website that people never see.
IT'S NOT ALWAYS GLAMOROUS.
There are days spent practicing the same technique again and again. Days spent changing a layout that looked perfect yesterday. Researching manufacturers. Thinking about pricing. Learning business. Figuring out what deserves to stay and what needs to go.
Building a business means doing a lot of work nobody sees.
And honestly, I like that part too.
I see a beauty brand with its own products, a talented team, multiple locations, education, editorial content, and a community of women who genuinely enjoy being part of the world we're creating.
I'm building toward that now.
WATCH IT BECOME SOMETHING.
